Non Formal Education For The Children From Brick Factories (Bhattas)

There are around 100-150 brick factories close to our centre at Jhajjar. We work with 15 brick factories, which are closer to Don Bosco centre. Presently around 220 kids come to attend classes every day. It has also given the chance to experience the taste of school life to the children in these bhattas.  These migrant families from Bihar, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Orissa and other places come to these brick factories just to find some labour job at the brick fields for a period of 8 to 10 months. During the rainy season when they go back to their native places, their children feel happy to go to school and ask their parents to put them in the school in their native places. Thus we have created awareness about the value of education among parents and children through our intervention. This is a great impact we have made while working with these disadvantaged section of the society. In our non-formal schooling, our teaching staff teaches them basic Hindi, English, Maths and Moral Studies, rhymes, drawing, singing, dancing, acting etc
