WORLD AIDS DAY CELEBRATION- BHOGAL

To create awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention, staff and students of BOSCO-Bhogal, Delhi an Implementing partner of UNHCR Refugee Assistance program organized an awareness rally around Bhogal area, Delhi on the World AIDS Day (30th November'2018). A total of 161 people participated Male – 84(Including Staff), Female -77 (Including Staff), attended the rally.

It took a weeklong of hard work and preparation for the campaign, that involved preparation of posters, placards, pictorial information, visual boards, banners, slogans on AIDS awareness and prevention measures; official permission taken from the Police authorities prior to the programme for a smooth and safe campaign. All of this was done by the students, youth members, and refugees along with staffs. A lot of refugees from Bhogal area took part in the rally. The rally started with the flag-off ceremony by chief guest Ms Rachna Sharma (Principal, MCD School, Jungpura). She addressed the rally participants and appreciated the hard work invested by all especially BOSCO for organizing the rally on such a sensitive issue. The campaign started with the distribution of red ribbons followed by a street play performance by the students which got the attention of many passersby. Slogans like “Bharat ko swach baneyege , AIDS ko mitayenge", Jo suraksha se nata todega, voh ek din duniya bhi chodega", “Aids ko bhagana hai, Desh ko bachana hai ” were raised during the rally which attracted and made an impact on the public.
Pamphlets and condoms were distributed to the passersby along the route. The route taken was a stretch of around 2 kms covering the main residential areas of the Bhogal, Jangpura. The curiosity of the onlookers along the route was very encouraging and proper information was passed on to everyone who asked about the rally.

The rally ended with the distribution of refreshments to all the participants who actively participated in the rally and made the aids awareness campaign successful. On that day, all the Bhogal Staff of all Teams (Training, Education, BPP & Health) actively participated in the campaign with utmost zeal and enthusiasm.
